The objective of the present investigation was to determine to what extent to influence the contact time and the mass of Natural Zeolite (Clinoptilolite) in the adsorption of Total Chromium from effluents of the Tannery Cuenca S.A.C. The type of research is experimental and bifactorial. For this, the sample was 1 liter of the Tannery effluent. The trials focus on the batch system, where 0.05 to 3 grams of Zeolite are shown and the contact time from 30 to 240 minutes in solutions of 20 mg Cr / L. In addition, they will be varied from 5 to 120 mg Cr / L with 2 grams of zeolite. All the solutions were found with pH 6 and ambient temperature of 23 ° C. The analyzes were carried out in the quality control laboratory of the company SEDALIB S.A. with the atomic absorption spectrophotometry equipment. Finally, it was found that the contact time and the mass of the Zeolite influenced the adsorption of Total Chromium from the Tannery Basin effluents. In addition, it was determined that 0.3840 mg Cr / g Ze is the equilibrium capacity of Zeolite and according to the mathematical mode, the Langmuir Adsorption Isotherms to improve the behavior of the adsorption capacity of Natural Zeolite.
