ABSTRACT In Peru, there is currently a deficiency in the education sector, both in methodology and infrastructure, the situation is compounded by having international data wich shows where the country is among the last positions, these data are for example the PISA tests. Countries in the same situation like Brazil, India and South Africa, were able to improve their educational quality by applying the theory of the flipped classroom, based on active and cooperative work of students and proposing new forms and types of educational infrastructure. Therefore this research focuses on applying the Flipped classroom theory oriented in shape optimization of classrooms for a school. The objective is to create spaces that allow students to change their way of study and to improve educational quality as well as develop a new architectural typology for the proper application of this theory. This is reflected in architecture by applying the concepts that encompass Flipped Classroom Theory and shape optimization as are the dynamism, flexibility and pattern through curved shapes, in order to adjust a space depending on the type of activity it is developed, that allow new design criteria for schools were generated. The context in which this research arises is in the Jerusalem area, district of La Esperanza, which has the largest deficit of students; in this sector there exist a special basic school, which applies this theory and has achieved improvements in their students and has experienced strong demand from students in recent years, making feasible the proposal of this research.
