The present research work had the purpose of analyzing the characteristics of the style of journalistic writing in the Chronicles published in the newspaper industry during the year 2012. To achieve that purpose, is took a sample representative of all them chronic published in said year, being selected a total of 24 chronic. Them texts elected of the shows were those of greater extension, and is had in has also select chronic of different class, so were present in it research them different approaches thematic of them texts published. In the obtained results a deficient management of the requirements of the journalistic style was observed, especially in the aspect of the concision. In addition, it was found that in many of the chronicles analyzed, the characteristics of the journalistic writing style were not respected, especially with regard to the expressiveness of the texts. Proportional failures were also noted in the structural components of the chronicle. These results show lack of professionalism in the journalists of the newspaper La Industria, which goes against the prestige of the oldest and most traditional newspaper in the city. It is hoped that this research will be taken into account so that, over time, the errors found are corrected, and thus improve the journalistic level of the newspaper, for the benefit of the industry and its readers.
