This dissertation makes a semiotic analysis and an evaluation of some television advertisements spots of the beer brand known in Peru as Cristal, which is owned by the Backus Corporation. The results are subjected to a comparison, relating the semiotic outcomes to the main historical changes that occurred in this country between the year 2000 and 2015. The current research was conducted and executed to achieve the degree in Communication Sciences in the peruvian university: Universidad Privada del Norte. The indicators used in this thesis are further fully specified and taken into account due to the importance of the development of certain aspects of the lifestyle, traditions and events affecting consumers of certain brands when it comes to advertise a product; specifically, beer, because this is one of the most widely consumed beverages in Perú and worldwide. This research was carried out due to the lack of information regarding on how society affects advertising. Thus, this thesis aims to present a new approach beyond the typical vision of cause and effect related to advertisement and society. This study begins with the development of the bibliography recollection, which is immersed in the background, the history and theoretical framework; to analyzing spots through an instrument of semiotic scrutiny, comparison charts and the following analysis of results that will eventually integrate and understand another approach to this relationship that lies underneath the common approach between society and advertisement.
