This research work is an improvement project in the purchasing management process of a company in the field of firefighting installations. It was identified as a central problem, the failure to deliver supplies on time of the projects, taking as a priority to investigate, the causes in the process of purchasing management. The objective is to quantify the degree of improvement in the fulfillment of deliveries of the projects, the improvement proposal that was made during the development of the thesis. The methodology used for this thesis project was a documentary and field study, of a practical nature and of an explanatory level. Taking as reference the past projects developed before. The following tools were used as tools for the development of the thesis project: Pareto diagram, flow diagram and Ishikawa diagram. As a result it was obtained that the company currently has deficiencies mainly in the planning stage, prioritizing the activities of the critical route a proposal was proposed which with its implementation is expected to improve and respect the delivery times of the projects, thus being able to obtain the projected profitability before starting the projects.
