The present research aimed to improve the properties of artisan brick by adding solid waste based on the E-070 standard. For this, the artisan manufacture of 280 clay bricks (4 equal groups), control group and groups where different percentages (3, 5 and 7%) of solid waste were added (pine sawdust, coating mortar and ground ceramic); that after 28 days the laboratory tests were carried out at the Universidad Privada del Norte, such as: dimensional variation, warping, absorption, suction and resistance to compression. Resulting in that the clay brick without the addition of residues has an average resistance to compression of 28.84Kg / cm2 and when adding 3% of residues, 35.96Kg / cm2 is obtained -which are favorable-; On the other hand, when adding 5% and 7%, it decreases significantly and they do not comply with the provisions of the standard. Concluding that when adding 3% of waste, the compressive strength increases by 24.69% compared to the standard sample, considering the hypothesis raised in that percentage as valid and rejecting the hypothesis when adding solid waste at 5% and 7 %, since they do not meet the minimum requirements stipulated in current regulations.
