Introduction: During the pandemic, older adults were the most affected as a result of confinement, which suffered psychosocial changes that were reflected in their environment such as: lack of family support, partial loss of their jobs, social stigmatization, vulnerability due to having a disease chronic etc. Objective: to determine the psychosocial impact of confinement by COVID-19 in older adults in a health center, district of Comas, Lima, in the year of 2023. Method: A retrospective cross-sectional scientific study was carried out with a non-probabilistic quantitative approach, with an exploratory level and non-experimental design. The study population was 60 older adults belonging to the diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension program treated at the health center of the district of Comas, Lima, in the year 2023. The variables were evaluated: demographic data, covid.19 situation, health and lifestyles, social relations and use of free time and coping with the situation. Results: 61,67% of the elderly consider that their health is very bad and that after confinement their health is much worse with 70%, since the pandemic began, 78,33% referred to feeling depressed and 65% indicated having had “high degree of difficulty” due to the COVID-19 situation compared to other situations. Conclusions: The confinement due to COVID-19 generated a psychosocial impact on the elderly, they were vulnerable due to their sociodemographic condition such as sex and age, economic status, lack of family support and because they had some underlying disease. They also suffered a high degree of depression and behavior patterns were affected.
