ABSTRACT The thesis project entitled “MANAGEMENT OF WATER QUALITY TO REDUCE COSTS IN THE TREATMENT OF EFFLUENTS IN THE COMPANY GLORIA SA“, arises from the need to optimize the productive processes with the purpose of reducing operating costs of the various plant processes. Development policies and the need for continuous improvement are common in the organization and have the technical and economic support for its development. The improvement process was developed by applying the continuous improvement cycle. For this, the initial conditions of the process environment, the process indicators that governed it, were evaluated, and a proposal for improvement was evaluated, which with the development of strategies resulted in the expected economic benefit. The industrial effluent plant of the company Gloria s. To process 196m3 / h of industrial effluent. The effluent produced contains residues of organic matter which are the product of the dairy product manufacturing process, as well as detergents which are part of the cleaning processes. The programs of continuous improvement and cost savings allowed to evaluate opportunities for improvement in this area. The improvement proposal is developed in the biological reactor of the industrial effluent plant which had deficiencies in the control of oxygen and shows the opportunity for improvement by reducing electric energy costs and improving its process.
