ABSTRACT In this research it arises expanding the production capacity of drinking water, for the plant water treatment (PTAP) “Santa Apolonia”, located in the department of Cajamarca, province of Cajamarca, District of Cajamarca, owned by the company SEDACAJ S.A. The current system of PTAP Santa Apolonia , possesses a conventional treatment system drinking water, and has an output of 80 l/s of drinking water; in this research arises to increase production capacity by 60 l/s , achieving reach 140 l/s ; through 2 prefabricated modular plants 30 l / s each, thanks to which it is possible to improve the projection of demand and supply of drinking water in the city of Cajamarca for the coming years ; and likewise an improvement is achieved in the treatment parameters of potable water from the current conventional system of the plant. The cost of the enlargement of the PTAP Santa Apolonia is S/. 7 338 361.94 (with VAT), in addition to a series of surveys of people-customers in the area of Cajamarca, was obtained that 100 % of respondents believe that the expansion of the PTAP Santa Apolonia is beneficial for them, which is very beneficial to the image of the service company SEDACAJ SA.
