Evaluación del Desarrollo y Sostenibilidad del Sistema de Gestión de la Investigación, basado en el ciclo de mejora de Deming, en la Universidad Privada del Norte

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo Evaluar el desarrollo y sostenibilidad del Sistema de gestión de la investigación de la Universidad Privada del Norte. Para ello, los autores investigaron la evolución del Sistema de Gestión de la Investigación de la Universidad Privada del Norte, durante los años 2012-2017, a fin de deconstruir la experiencia desde la perspectiva del ciclo de mejora continua de Deming. Con este propósito se determinó realizar una investigación no experimental, longitudinal iniciando el estudio con la identificación del estado de la gestión de la investigación en la universidad en el año 2011. A partir de ello, se documentó los pasos cíclicos realizados durante su desarrollo entre los años 2012 y 2017, desde la perspectiva del ciclo de mejora continua de Deming, para finalmente analizar el estado de la gestión de la investigación en la universidad en el año 2018 y evaluar el desarrollo y sostenibilidad logrados en el proceso. Para la recolección de la información se utilizaron los métodos de revisión documental, entrevista y observación, logrando además identificar aspectos críticos que favorecieron el buen desarrollo del proceso, así como las buenas prácticas incurridas en él. El resultado de la investigación corrobora que una metodología para el desarrollo del sistema de gestión de la investigación, siguiendo el ciclo de mejora continua de Deming favorece el desarrollo y sostenibilidad de este, lo cual queda demostrado a través del seguimiento de los indicadores de gestión presentados a través del tiempo. El presente trabajo de investigación permite a la Universidad Privada del Norte mantener una memoria histórica de lo realizado a través de los años en cuanto a la implementación del Sistema de Gestión de la Investigación y disponer de la información necesaria para la toma de decisiones a futuro. Los autores esperan asimismo contribuir, a través de esta investigación, con otras universidades que deseen también desarrollar sus sistemas de gestión de la investigación y no encuentran aún el camino u orientación para hacerlo.

The objective of this research is to evaluate the development and sustainability of the Research Management System of the Universidad Privada del Norte. For this, the authors investigated the evolution of the Research Management System of the Universidad Privada del Norte, during the years 2012-2017, in order to deconstruct the experience from the perspective of the continuous improvement cycle of Deming. For this purpose, it was determined to conduct a non-experimental longitudinal investigation, starting the study with the identification of the state of the research management in the university in 2011. From this, the cyclic steps carried out during its development were documented. 2012 and 2017, from the perspective of Deming's continuous improvement cycle, to finally analyze the state of research management at the university in 2018 and evaluate the development and sustainability achieved in the process. In order to collect the information, the methods of document review, interview and observation were used, as well as identifying critical aspects that favored the good development of the process, as well as good practices incurred in it. The result of the research corroborates that a methodology for the development of the research management system, following the cycle of continuous improvement of Deming favors the development and sustainability of this, which is demonstrated through the monitoring of the management indicators presented through time. The present research work allows Universidad Privada del Norte to maintain a historical memory of what has been done over the years in terms of the implementation of the Research Management System and to have the necessary information to make future decisions. The authors also hope to contribute, through this research, with other universities that also wish to develop their research management systems and do not yet find the way or guidance to do so.
