The present investigation, entitled: “LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES OF THE MOTHER ON IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA IN CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE AT THE PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION SAN MARCOS - CHANCAY 2022“. It is carried out with the objective of determining the level of knowledge and attitudes of the mother of children under 5 years of age in iron deficiency anemia. The population will be made up of 71 mothers with their respective children under 5 years of age. The research is of a quantitative approach - Descriptive type. non-experimental with cross section. The instruments used were a questionnaire. The results show that 100% of mothers, 62% have a medium level of knowledge in iron deficiency anemia showing an unfavorable attitude. While 44% have a low level of knowledge with an unfavorable attitude and 36% have a high level of knowledge opting for correct answers about anemia with a favorable attitude. Regarding the iron-rich foods dimension, 75% of mothers from 36 to 40 years old have a high level of knowledge, 47% of mothers from 18 to 19 years old have a medium level of knowledge and 46% of mothers from 18 to 19 years old obtained a low level of knowledge. 74% of mothers aged 18 to 19 obtained an unfavorable attitude and 65% of mothers aged 40 and over obtained a favorable attitude during the intervention. In conclusion, most mothers have a medium level of knowledge about iron deficiency anemia.
