ABSTRACT This study was intended in order to establish and determine the relationship between the institutional communication oriented to generate knowledge of the functions of the area and the motivation for the work, and the work climate of the Municipal Library of Trujillo. With regard to data collection, the observation and survey guide for the internal public was used as a technique to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication, as well as to determine the working environment in the organization. Because the population was small, the object of study was the 12 collaborators of the institution. The research design used was non-experimental and descriptive. Among the most relevant results it is established that the type of internal communication that predominates is informal, lacking in communication of functions, policies and customer service protocols. On the other hand, the administrative staff and in general is not dedicated to improving the work environment, there are bad relationships, disintegration and other factors that create a barrier to boost a pleasant working atmosphere. Also, some of the staff of the institution is not helped and encouraged by their superior, affecting their motivation and work performance. KEYWORDS: Institutional Communication, Working Environment.
