The design study of an energy management system according to ISO 50001 for the company VITAPRO S.A., to reduce electricity costs is presented. It was made, using the equations of electrical engineering and statistical data processing, an electrical audit to Plant VITAPRO SA, resulting in that its electrical performance is only 80.9%, it does not consume reactive energy because it has a good power factor of 0.98. and pay 296,225 soles / month. An estimate of operational and technological improvements was made, from change of motors, drivers, luminaires, and load improvement in transformers, in addition to change of electric billing, giving a gross profit of more than 888,000 soles / year The energy management system was designed, based on ISO 50001, considering the stages of defining the energy policy, energy planning, implementation and operation, verification, sustained by the monitoring processes, detection of non-conformities, audits of the SGE, all this process must be approved by the Senior Management of VITAPRO SA For the execution of the improvements, 7 action plans were designed, which define objectives, actions, and responsibilities. In the economic and financial analysis, it is necessary to invest 556,800 soles. To increase the efficiency of the Plant up to 90.80%, obtaining a gross annual benefit of 1'087,603 soles / year, resulting in a NPV of 7'033,355 soles in a useful life period of 15 years, being the return period of the investment of 1.73 years, resulting positive investment in the implementation of the energy management system in VITAPRO SA according to ISO 50001 standard.
