ABSTRACT The present investigation consisted in carrying out a study of Fair Trade and how this has influenced the Business Development of small farmers of Organic Bananas in the Piura Region, for the increase of exports of this product abroad; considering as hypothesis that the Business Development with Fair Trade gives a window of opportunity for the exports of Organic Bananas. To test the hypothesis, a non-experimental research was used as a research design, as well as for the collection of primary sources such as interviews, secondary sources such as statistical information on web pages, market studies, etc. Throughout the investigation it was observed that the Organic Banana forms one of the products with greater growth during the last years representing thus greater future potential, since this is a very distinguished and precious fruit in the foreign markets, for the value that this product enjoys respect to its properties and characteristics, complementing with the favorable tendencies of consumption. The study highlighted that Peru has competitive advantages compared to the rest of the world. Peru not only owns the land and the climatic variety that give it an important primacy at a global level, but it also has the additional geographical position, with annual reverse seasons to many markets in the world. With the aforementioned, it was established that, through Fair Trade, opportunities are provided for Peruvian Organic Banana producers, since the demand for the product with the characteristics that this type of trade has is continuously growing, finally being proposed as a proposal to a Sustainable Export project.
