ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to study the unconventional tourism at ASPAH (Asociación de Pescadores Artesanales de Huanchaco), as a development alternative for them. The viability of vivential tourism offer was analysed in Huanchaco, which will allow to promote the tourism development in the area, having as a media entities the fishermens and the president of the association. It has gathered information as background studies, interviews and surveys to the people involved in this research with a total of 30 active partners, showing that vivential tourism contributes to touristic development of Huanchaco, allowing to confirm elements which belong to the main attractions of this place. In this study, it has confirmed the creation of new job opportunities once increase tourism activities, generating many benefits for those involved. Besides, a proposal was applied to promote the development of the place, through tourism packages with the participation of everyone involved, offering this vivential tourism in a responsible and sustainable way. This study investigates the effects to accommodate tourists in the houses of the fishermens in exchange for remuneration. The integration of cultural, natural and gastronomic riches of Huanchaco allows the creation of jobs benefiting the community, directly to fishermen’s families, which have the “caballito de totora”, as a cultural and ancestral symbol. The unconventional elements more represents are the artisanal fishing, the making of the caballito de totora and the Huanchaco’s gastronomy. To finish, the vivential tourism is a development possibility to fishermens who show a high rate of acceptance to this new type of tourism in Huanchaco.
