The main objective of this research is to know if the nursing staff in the ICU area present the exhaustion syndrome in a hospital in metropolitan Lima, in which different dimensions intervene which are; emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal fulfillment, for this the variables were taken into account: sex, age and marital status. The study is descriptive with a non-experimental and quantitative design. The sample consisted of 32 people, to whom the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) instrument by Christina Maslach was applied. This test was validated by Vásquez (2020). According to the results obtained, 68.8% present a moderate level and 28.1% a high level of Burnout Syndrome. In addition, it was evidenced that there is a significant difference in the age variable since the highest score was found in the age range of 30 to 40. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a moderate prevalence of Burnout syndrome in nursing personnel in the ICU area.
