In the analysis of the requirement of this improvement project was made after identifying the problems that cause inefficiency in the quality of lighting in the lighting system on access roads and on roads of critical and required areas. With the data provided by the owner of the site and the observations made during the preliminary studies and the data collected from the last 5 years of the Administration department. We used methods and calculations, mathematical formulas of photometry, luminance and illuminance for tests of the deficiency in the quality of the lighting system in roads. The values obtained from these tests were worked in a template of Microsoft Excel, which helped us to determine efficiently the forms and technologies to be used for such improvement and achieve the quality in energy efficiency. Currently, the study area still has lighting equipment of conventional technology such as high pressure sodium vapor lamps which need an excessive amount of illuminance to achieve an acceptable performance, given the time of use and the amount of hours of work it was determined that these conventional technology equipment tend to lose their light capacity. Equipment with LED technology has better lighting quality and energy efficiency of between 80 and 85% for aspirations and making decisions. By using this type of technology that saves energy efficiently and economically, as well as being environmentally friendly, it is a great alternative for reducing electricity tariff costs and minimizing dependence on conventional sodium, halide and mercury vapor technologies.
