Objective: Decide the factors associated with the abandonment of contraceptive methods in female students of the Universidad Privada Del Norte, Los Olivos 2021 headquarters during the COVID 19 pandemic Material and Methods: The study is of non-experimental design of cross-sectional, quantitative and correlational type. In which the population was constituted by a total of 220 women, stratified sampling was carried out to obtain the number of students to be surveyed from the first to the sixth cycle of the Obstetrics career, using a survey as an instrument for obtaining data. Results: The personal factor is related to the abandonment of the method, as the students, the 63.2% only dedicated to studying, 86.4% were single and 83.6% were sexually active. Forgetting to administer or apply the method was the main reason for abandoning it. Regarding the sociocultural factor, 35.5% of the population mentioned that their partner influenced the decision-making about the use of MAC and 24.1% of the population stated that the friends influenced by the same character. In relation to side effects, weight loss stood out, followed by increased sleep, and the most frequent method of abandonment was the combined contraceptive pill. During the COVID19 pandemic, 57,7% of them stopped using contraceptives to avoid leaving home in search of an establishment that could provide them and 55.0% due to lack of access to the establishments that provide them. Conclusions: The personal, sociocultural factor and side effects are significantly related to the abandonment of contraceptive methods by obstetrician students at the Universidad Privada Del Norte, Los Olivos headquarters during the pandemic.
