The objective of this thesis was to determine the level of relation of the internal control of inventories, with the profitability of the company ZUR food distributor S.A.C. With a nonexperimental, correlational design, the relationship between the variables is evaluated, a sample population of 22 people was used. It was obtained as results that the analysis of profitability ratios, evidenced reductions of its Gross Profitability and Operational Profitability, its Net profitability, remained stable, Its ROA increased, product of a stock capitalization, Its ROE was increased, and that the main concern of the company was share capitalization to reduce losses, despite the fact that inventory problems were observed that increased the cost of sales from one year to the next. It was concluded using Pearson's correlation R = 0.64 with significance of p = 1.22E-03, that the internal control variable of inventories is related to the variable of profitability, in a degree of high positive correlation. Finally, it is recommended that the company train and motivate its employees about the importance of adequate control of inventories, as it could be shown that these, when inadequately controlled and managed, generate a great loss to the company.
