The main objective of this thesis was to analyze the compressive and flexural strength of the compacted adobe, made with the CINVA RAM machine and with the incorporation of sodium bentonite. The investigation was based fundamentally on classifying three soil types from different districts of Cajamarca which are suitable for the elaboration of compacted adobes, dosing the three types of soil at different levels of incorporation of sodium bentonite (8, 12 and 16%); to then evaluate its effects on the resistance to compression and bending and compare the results, with those of a compacted adobe without incorporation and also be compared with the minimum resistance to compression indicated by the E.080 standard (12kg7cm2). The results were satisfactory independently for each type of soil, the incorporation of sodium bentonite, in percentages of 8, 12 and 16% in the compacted adobe, improves its mechanical properties, in compression resistance to more than 20% with respect to the value found for the standard sample (without addition) and the minimum value of compressive strength indicated by the E.080 standard, in flexural strength the results were greater than 10% with respect to the standard sample. Regardless of each type of soil and with the incorporation of sodium bentonite, values of compressive strength were reached, reaching up to 42.18 kg / cm2, with 16% incorporation of sodium bentonite, which approximate a block of class P (loading block 50kg / cm2), according to standard E. 070 - Masonry.
