ABSTRACT The constant seismic activity in Peru promote us to improve our construction methods and to look for new systems of antiseismic construction, in order to comply with the philosophy and principles of seismic design according to the NTP E.030. This is why in the present work of research has chosen to study a innovative anti-seismic system known worldwide as Tuned Mass Damper or TMD, translated into Spanish as Amortiguador de Masas Sintonizada; implementing it in a building of Category A1 (Essential Buildings) according to the NTP E.030, as it is the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca (Hospital Docente de Cajamarca). To this end, a comparison was made of the structural response of the E sector of the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca with and without the Tuned Mass Damper (TMD since now) system with the help of structural computational programs with three types of TMD; hoping for an improvement in the structural response of an 30% for the building with the anti-seismic system, presenting in the results a reduction of displacements from 27.9 to 55.8%, a reduction of drifts from 25.8% to 62.5% and a reduction in lateral stresses from 30.4% to 41.3%.
