The present research aims to introduce organic granulated panela, a Peruvian product that has a great sales potential in the U.S market. The panela in Peru is mostly produced in the departments of Piura, Cajamarca and Amazonas. These products are elaborated in small “trapiches“ crafted in a traditional way, although there are small companies that are beginning to modernize the production process. This product is being exported by Cooperativa NorAndino, who is in charge of collecting the production of Piura and Cajamarca in its majority, and sending it to European countries like France and Italy. The importance of the study lies in demonstrating that the United States represents a business opportunity for the organic peruvian panela. In order to achieve this, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of this country was carried out; as well as an analysis of peruvian panela exports. In addition, a strategic plan was prepared so that one of the companies producing Cajamarca department, Agroindustrias Centurión SRL, could identify opportunities that would enable it to acquire better technology for its plant and improve its exportable supply in quality and quantity, thus start exporting this product under a brand of its own without the need of a middleman or collector. In order to understand the reality of the environment in which the company is developing, interviews were conducted with Mr. César Centurión, manager of Agroindustrias Centurión SRL, Ms. Yenny Robledo, production manager of NorAndino and the president of the directors board, Clever Surita. They all contributed enormously to the development of strategies to enter the United States market. The results of this study determined that the United States represents a business opportunity for the organic granulated panela because the objective market of this product is related to the organic market and the fair trade market; characteristics that are well received in the American country.
