The following energy saving implementation aims to optimize the operation of the CPH (Condensate Preheater) pump according to the optimal inlet temperature to the HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) preheater of the 870 MW Kallpa Combined Cycle Power Plant located in the district of Chilca, Lima - Peru; this in order to reduce the Auxiliary Power Consumption of the Plant. For this, the current operation diagnosis of the C PH pump was carried out, as well as the calculation of the electrical energy consumption, and finally the thermodynamic analysis of the mass and energy balance in the HRSG preheater. The implementation took 25 working days, whose stages include: Change Control Management; Implementation, Establish Resources to Use; Establish Functions, Procedures and Documentation; Measure and Maintain Management. A monthly energy saving of 42.46 MW-h and an economic saving of $ 2 123.17 was obtained for the 3 CPH pumps of the HRSG1-2-3 after applying the thermodynamic method of mass and energy balance in the HRSG condensate preheater . According to the results obtained as a result of the implementation, the objective of reducing the consumption of auxiliary energy at the Kallpa Combined Cycle Thermal Power Plant from 248.5 MW-h to 206.04 MW-h is met, which represents a monthly savings on average of 42.46 MW-h. This under normal combined cycle operating conditions for a 3x1 configuration.
