The general objective of this research is to determine the technical and economic factors of the use of expanded polystyrene beads as an additive in the tensile and flexural properties of reinforced concrete using 1% and 3% as a nanotechnological additive, for the “CARE“ single-family home. This research is Inductive, because there is a subordination of cause - effect between the variables studied, carrying out laboratory tests to find results regarding flexural resistance, and resistance to tension with traditional concrete and adding polystyrene beads. The results of the flexural resistance test reached a maximum tenacity of 40.75 kg/cm2, continuously the resistance to indirect tension a resistance of 22.9 kg/cm2 was obtained, showing that these are the most optimal results and that they correspond to the standard concrete to the 28 days of curing. In conclusion, our tests carried out showed that the expanded polystyrene beads adding 1% and 3% negatively influence the flexural strength and tensile strength since as the percentage of polystyrene beads increases, the resistance decreases, and finally, in a positive way, the settlement increases notably, managing to increase the workability time in the concrete.
