The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between depression and alcohol consumption in psychology students at the Universidad Privada del Norte de Cajamarca, in 2019. The research was correlational, cross-sectional, not experimental, since the variables were not manipulated. The sample consisted of 94 male and female psychology students from the Universidad Privada del Norte. The inventory was used to measure the levels of Beck Depression - Second Edition and the AUDIT test. The results found were statistically analyzed through Excel programs and the statistical software system was called SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences), to establish the correlation between depression and alcohol consumption, obtaining as results the data presented in tables statistics. These results determined that the distribution of variables is not normal, since it has been obtained as a result that it is an asymmetric investigation; being able to conclude that there is no significant correlation between depression and alcohol consumption. The most relevant aspect is that both variables act as risk factors.
