ABSTRACT This research details the optimization representative percent of the witnesses of diamond drilling in fractures formations varying some operating parameters and increasing the viscosity of drilling fluids used in Mining Constable Cerro Azul Project, diamond drill run the specialized company Boart Longyear SAC. Which then can be applied to drilling representing such a formations. The core drilling witness is a system widely used in mining and constructions, using hydraulic machinery cutting tools and drilling fluids penetrate deep underground and extract cores of rocks of different diameters containing any real information of what it contains the subsoil. The objective of this research is to optimize the recovery rate of the witnesses drilling holes exited by the Boart Longyear SAC company, in constable mining applying adjusted to the type of terrain to improve to representative number of witnesses in the diamond drill holes parameter within these parameters in the uses of crowns front discharge, RPM, pressure on the crown and increase the viscosity of drilling fluids to avoid damage to the walls drill running, improve circulation and cleaning sweep debris. In this type of formations the recovery is poor and affects the quality of the results of the exploration in this regard and with customer approval is accepted research. Prudently making changes in the operating parameters rotational speed at 1000 RPM, pressure on the crown the start of drilling 1000lb set, Considering the depth and weight of the drill string it is gradually reduced to achieve the fine feed (RPI). Increase the viscosity of drilling fluids of 35 to 49 seconds, the use of crown front discharge was implemented, Resulting in the increase in the percentage of recovery of witnesses by more than 15% after making the suggested changes according to what was proposed in the draft study.
