ABSTRACT The present work had as its overall objective to determine the technical and economic feasibility of designing a biodiesel production plant, using the industrial potential of the castor, in the valley of Condebamba, Cajabamba region Cajamarca. This project studied the feasibility of feedstock advantage castor seed, so far unused resources in the Cajamarca region to install a biodiesel production plant that can be used as input for mixtures of B2 and B5 Diesel, according to the legal framework for the production and commercialization of biofuels. The base is referred Petroperu and potential customer, have allowed design production and propose their production at industrial level, by designing a technical and economically viable plant that will process daily 123 barrels per day with an annual production of 29,859 barrels / year satisfying a percentage of unsatisfied demand Petroperu the main destination. The total investment amounts to U.S. $ 4' 681,781.69, which includes fixed investment and working capital. Economic evaluation results in VANE of $ 8'403,913.26, and a 40 % TIRE. The financial evaluation results in FNPV U.S. 6'950,408.20 and TIRF 64 % which confirms the viability of the project. In addition, a 1 year payback 6months and WACC of 11.60% is obtained. Finally, we conclude that the business plan is viable, based on the increasing demand for biofuels on a national and international level and industrial potential of castor in Cajamarca.
