ABSTRACT This work has the objective of analyzing how to improve the processes in production and raise the productivity of a company. Therefore, an essential key would be the use of the 5S Methodology, in order to obtain spaces for useful and better structured work, well distributed spaces, where constant and prime permanently cleaning and order to achieve increased productivity and an adequate working space. The main objective of this work is to determine the relationship between the use of the 5S Methodology (DP) with productivity in the manufacture of polystyrene blocks in a production company, which will serve to consider proposals for improvements in the production development of the company. Once the manufacturing processes for polystyrene are determined, the sources that give rise to the low productivity in the company being studied are identified, in which the 5S tool will be proposed to mitigate these main causes. Next, a technical and economic evaluation will be carried out showing the results of the impact when applying this Methodology, as well as the results with financial techniques, showing the feasibility of a project to implement a tool for the polystyrene block manufacturing area. Finally, the conclusions of this implementation proposal and the recommendations for standardization and its sustainability are presented.
