Objective: The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between the risk of falls and functional capacity in older adults treated at a physiotherapy center in the Huaura district; 2020. Method: a quantitative approach study was developed, basic type, correlational level, non-experimental design and hypothetical deductive method. With a sample of 50 older adults, the instruments applied were the Tinetti scale and the Barthel Index. Results: The relationship between the risk of falls and functional capacity in older adults at the “PHYSIO VIDA EIRL Physiotherapeutic Center” could be determined. Through Pearson's χ² value of 61.587 and with a significance level of p= 0.000. Conclusion: The relationship between the risk of falls and functional capacity confirms the theoretical foundations that mention that the loss of functionality represents a primary factor that increases the risk of falls in the older adult population, where the performance of daily living activities will define the degree of functional dependence associated with the risk of falls and their subsequent complications.
