At present, competence management is a process that allows identifying the skills of the people required in each job through a quantifiable and measurable profile, additionally consists of implementing a new management style that allows managing the human resources of a most effective way. Likewise, the success of any company lies in the quality and availability of the human factor. The greater this integrated and take advantage of the qualities that each of the workers have, the more competitive the company will be and adapt to a constantly changing market, it should be noted that a good management of competencies guarantees the excellence in the work performance of each of the collaborators of the company. The present research work was carried out in the Hochschild Mining Company located in Surco, likewise, this is a correlational quantitative approach study, whose main objective was to determine the relationship that exists between competence management and job performance. To obtain the information, a survey on competence management and job performance was applied to 44 workers in the administrative area between men and women. The questionnaire was composed of 18 items with a scale amplitude of five categories. The validity and reliability of the instrument were made according to Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, therefore the instruments are reliable and consistent. In addition, the measurement of both variables was performed to observe the level of correlation that exists between these two variables already mentioned.
