The purpose of this research was to determine the technical and social efficiency of potable water projects executed through direct administration by the district municipality of Los Baños del Inca between 2010 and 2016. To reach this objective, the current state had to be evaluated of drinking water systems, the satisfaction of the users and the service provided by the JASS. The methodology used was of a descriptive type, where the data collection instruments already validated in the thesis were used: Management of the technical areas of sanitation in the drinking water service - Cajamarca region, (Aguilar, 2015). The study sample consisted of 10 potable water projects executed, being a non-probabilistic sample for convenience. For the elaboration of the data collection instruments, the variables operational matrix was taken into account, with each one of its indicators. The technical and social efficiency of the drinking water systems were determined based on the following dimensions: infrastructure, quality, service and social impact, these dimensions were assigned a consistent numerical value with respect to a chromatic scale (green, yellow, red) A survey of the level of satisfaction of the drinking water service was also implemented, where twenty questions regarding drinking water systems and the joint participation of their JASS were used, which were assessed using a Likert scale (the first ten questions evaluated the social efficiency of the system and the next ten technical efficiency) this survey was applied to users of each of the systems studied. Based on the collection of information, it was determined that potable water projects executed through direct administration by the district municipality of Los Baños del Inca obtained that: in the infrastructure dimension, 10% are efficient and 90% are deficient, the dimension of quality and service is obtained that 10% are efficient, 20% are regular and 70% are deficient, finally in the social impact dimension it is obtained that 10% are efficient, concluding that the technical and social efficiency in projects of drinking water are 80% deficient and only 20% regular; finally in the application of the aforementioned satisfaction survey it was obtained that: 9.04% qualify as Very Low the level of satisfaction of the potable water service, 8.04% qualify as Low the level of satisfaction of the potable water service, 19.67% qualify as Average the level of satisfaction of the service of potable water, 30.41% qualify as Good the level of satisfaction of the potable water service and 32.85% qualify as Very Good the level of satisfaction of the potable water service.
