ABSTRACT For a globalized world, inventory and warehouse management is a determining point in the strategic management of any organization. The design of the inventory and warehouse management system aims to test its influence on the availability of spare parts serviced by the company UNIMAQ S.A.. The information gathering was carried out in the area though surveys and unstructured interviews, information which after being collected was analyzed and processed using graphs and tables. Initially, a situational diagnosis was made and analyzed through flow charts, Ishikawa diagrams, compliance checklist, and management indicators. Based on this diagnosis, the design was made to improve the availability of supplies. Therefore, the design basically consists in improving the disposition of spare parts serviced through the application of the 5S, Layout, ABC methodology, inventory and warehouse policies with a list of actions under a logical sequential order. Later, the influence of the system on the availability of spare parts was projected through the compliance of indicators, estimating a cost per unit stored from 9.28 to 2.78 soles, inventory period from 45.88 to 37.50 days, level of on-time delivery from 85 to 94% from the total number of orders, and the level of complete delivery from 74% to 96%, obtaining a projection on the improvement in the efficiency of spare parts availability. Finally, we carried out a cost - benefit analysis obtaining the value of 3.44 for which the project should be considered since the benefits outweigh the costs. KEYWORDS: Inventory management, warehouse management, availability, rotation, layout, ABC method, 5S.
