This study aimed to examine the connection between anxiety and depression in older adults affected by confinement due to COVID-19 in Lima during 2021. A quantitative approach was adopted with a non-experimental cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational design. The sample included 55 older adults, men and women, residents of Lima, selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. To evaluate anxiety, we used the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and for depression, the Beck Depression Inventory (IDB). We conclude that there is a weak positive relationship (Rho = .094) between anxiety and depression; However, no significant relationship was identified between both variables (p > 0.05).
