The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of non-technical skills on staff retention in the mining company Sierra Antapite SAC, located in Huancavelica during the year 2023. This study is part of a basic research, non- experimental and transversal in nature, using a deductive approach and surveys as the main data collection method. Both general and specific questions and goals were raised that focus on the relationship between non-technical skills and staff retention in this mining company. The theoretical, practical and methodological justification highlights the relevance of this study in the understanding of non-technical skills in the mining field, its influence on personnel retention, as well as the identification of social indicators to improve the work environment. This research has a qualitative approach with an explanatory level of cause and effect, focused on the employees of Sierra Antapite SAC in the Huancavelica District, both in supervisory roles and in operational roles. Data collection was carried out through surveys during the year 2023. The results obtained show a considerable influence of non-technical skills such as emotional intelligence, empathetic communication, teamwork and problem solving, on staff retention. Improvements were seen in each of these skills after the execution of a specific development plan. Based on these findings, it is recommended to monitor turnover rates in subsequent years to assess the sustainability of improvements. Furthermore, it is suggested to expand this development plan to other mining units if favorable results are obtained.
