ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to design a maintenance management plan for the company San Martin Contratistas Generales SA, where it is intended to increase the mechanical availability applied to the fleet of trucks in the Mercedes Benz brand model Actros 4144K and excavators in the CAT brand model 390D, for which the research design that was developed is descriptive analytical type, thus reaching the following results. The causes that caused the low mechanical availability were identified and analyzed, in which it could be seen that the machinery does not comply with the scheduled preventive maintenance program, has a bad management in the purchase of spare parts, lack of work procedures, lack of records of mechanical failures and lack of personnel training. Then a maintenance management plan was designed to increase the mechanical availability that was at 76.22%. With the possible implementation of the new design, it will be possible to increase the mechanical availability to 92%. In addition, the cost of the design of the maintenance management plan, which has a cost of S / 8,618,086.19, was evaluated, the cost of the design is viable compared to the income obtained from the rental of machinery, which totals 34,889,400,000. In conclusion, the proposal of a new maintenance management plan design increases the mechanical availability to 92%, reducing the constant unscheduled stops, increasing the company's income.
