ABSTRACT This research presents a proposal for improvement in the production area through which it is sought to increase profitability in the line of jams of a food company. For this purpose, a diagnosis of the current problematic reality of the company was initially carried out, with the objective of identifying and evaluating the appropriate methodologies to be developed in view of the problematic situation presented. Subsequently, the development of these methodologies was given, which are related to Operations Management and Control such as MRP II, 5'S; and to Personnel Management as Performance Evaluation. The results obtained were to determine that the present improvement proposal exposes the opportunity to increase profitability in the production line of jams, allowing to reduce from 379,882 to 113,965 Kg/year of product ceased to produce due to unscheduled detentions; as well as increasing the percentage of compliance with the production plans from 93% to 98%, achieving savings of S/.193,880; eliminating the overweight of all jam presentations, generating savings of S/.41,947 and achieving savings of S/.130,000 per year as a result of a rational use of the materials and inputs used daily. Finally, after the economic evaluation of the present proposal, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of S/.135,843, which explains that a future implementation of the project will generate more financially than the initial investment requires. Equally, the internal rate of return of 87% translates the rate that the project will give to the shareholders for investing in this improvement proposal and, finally, with the B / C analysis, equal to 2.36, it is reaffirmed that the project under study is economically acceptable that said financial ratio being > 1 determines that the profit exceeds the costs.
