Social platforms have taken a radical turn regarding the way in which the public accesses, consumes and disseminates news, which contrasts two parts, one positive and the other negative, these changes are crucial mainly for journalism and the media usually. Fake news has found a great loudspeaker on platforms such as Facebook and Google, managing to influence people who consume news online every day and in important events, especially in this covid-19 pandemic. These events have made them one of the main problems for journalism and states. This Final Degree Project focuses on the study of sources from the different areas of convergence of the journalistic profession: business, professional, technological and content in order to determine specific guidelines, and apply them later, through the verification method correlational, to the treatment of sources in a fan page “Trujillo Limpio”. Taking this situation into consideration, it is essential to know how this proliferation of news affects citizens and what impact it has on public opinion. To do this, we will address the way in which fake news affects citizens’ decision-making and the way in which they polarize public opinion.
