The purpose of this Thesis is to determine the compressive strength of artisan brick piles using traditional P1 mortar and artisan brick piles using non-traditional mortar (Massa DunDun), taking into account Technical Standard E.070 - Masonry. 06 units of artisan brick were selected from the “El Paraíso” branch of the “El Cerrillo” quarry, and the classification tests were carried out: dimensional variation, warping, simple compression and, non-classifying tests: suction and absorption in the laboratory “ Lezama Consulting ”by engineer José Lazaro Lezama Leiva. Of these, a dimensional variation of 10.76% in length, 8.58% in width and 18.23% in height was obtained; a warping in concavity of 1.13mm and 1.63mm in convexity and a compressive strength (fꞌb) of the masonry unit of 54.21kg / cm2, according to this the brick was classified according to technical standard E.070 as type I. On the other hand , the piles made with traditional P1 mortar yielded a compressive strength (fꞌm) of 25.14kg / cm2 and those made with non-traditional mortar (Massa DunDun) yielded a value (fꞌm) of 16.31kg / cm2, data that vary by 24.58 %. Analyzing the results obtained, we realize that both values are below the minimum value required according to Standard E.070 - Masonry, which is 35kg / cm2, and therefore no mortar meets this requirement.
