The purpose of this research was to develop a cost management model related to transportation services with the objective of improving the profitability of a logistics operator. The methodology adopted was quantitative using a non-experimental correlational and transectional design. Data collection was carried out through observation and document analysis, focusing on the study variables: costs associated with transportation services and profitability. Subsequently, this information was processed and statistically analyzed using Microsoft Excel for descriptive analysis. The results show that cost management for the logistics operator's transportation service and profitability are empirically inversely related, observing that when expenses were higher indicators of profitability they had a tendency to decrease; Likewise, the proposal was designed based on the new allocation based on the number of trips, where it was observed that the cost moves depending on the number of trips. Thus concluding that it can be stated that the application of the cost management strategy based on the drivers of the service will contribute to improving profitability both at a financial and economic level, also allowing it to estimate more clearly which client is more profitable than another, with the purpose of ensuring that the decisions made are the most appropriate, which in turn will allow greater success.
