The general objective of the research is to determine how the implementation of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology improves the availability of hydraulic extruders in the company Italsolder S.A.C. Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a methodology that allows us to increase the availability of an asset, improve the understanding of equipment operation and also analyze all the possibilities of failure of systems and subsystems. The hydraulic extruders of the Italsolder SAC company did not have a maintenance plan, which is why the RCM methodology was implemented in these equipments, with the help of the maintenance reports, the manual of the hydraulic extruder and information available from the maintenance personnel of the company. The conclusions of the investigation in the LP250 - 1I extruder, the availability had an increase of 10.4%. In the LP250 - 2I extruder, availability had an increase of 8.5%. Repair times for the LP250-1I extruder were reduced by 27.5%. In the LP250-2I extruder, it was reduced by 23.3%. The number of failures for the LP250-1I extruder was reduced by 82.4%. In the LP250-2I extruder, it was reduced by 73.3%. Maintenance costs on the LP250-1I extruder were reduced by 82%. In the LP250-2I extruder, it was reduced by 71.2%.
