ABSTRACT This research work was carried out in the company Caxamarca Gas S. A what is dedicated to the packaging and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aimed at families and gas-consuming companies, offers different products such as Peten ball of 15kg, Ball 10 kg yellow, 10 kg blue ball, stationary tanks, etc. The main problems identified in the process area were: unnecessary transport time and unnecessary operator movements, which generated considerable times of unaggregated value (TNVA). The proposed implementation of Lean manufacturing tools was raised to improve productivity levels in the area of LPG packaging production. The main objective of the research was to design an improvement plan based on tools such as time study, work method study, 5s, training and proposed new plant distribution. These tools were able to reduce the (TNVA), increase the efficiency of labor, reduce distances traveled, increase plant use, increase productivity H-H, order, classify materials and cleanliness in the areas of Work. In conclusion with the proposal of improvement applying the tools of Lean manufacturing in the process of packaging of LPG, it was able to reduce the cycle time from 133.65 s to 82.73 s, the percentage of utilization of plant increased from 39% to 69%. With the costbenefit methodology it was determined that the project is viable, since the VAN obtained is S/. 179,657.14 and the TIR obtained is 72%. It is recommended that the company implement the improvement proposal, which will be very useful. Also use the information obtained in the present study as a basis to continue and improve with the topics related to the increase of productivity and good practices for the development of the activities and working environment in areas of production.
