Objective: To identify the correlation that exists between knowledge of breast cancer and breast self- examination practices in women of childbearing age who attend the DRS.Osorio Pitta surgical medical center, Comas, 2022. Methodology: Non-experimental, descriptive correlational study with a quantitative approach. A questionnaire was applied that was validated by expert judgment, the sample consisted of 70 women of childbearing age who attend the medicine office, the sample obtained was by the type of intentional or convenience non-probabilistic sampling. For the statistical analysis, the SPPS-26 application and Microsoft Excel 2019 were used, the data analysis is expressed in percentages. Results: According to sociodemographic characteristics, 91.4% are between 20 and 49 years old and only 8.6% are between 15 and 20 years old. Regarding marital status, the largest number of women are single, representing 48.6% in terms of the level of education, 57.1% have higher education in terms of the occupation of the women interviewed, it is in the other category with 40.0% and about the origin Most of the women interviewed come from the Peruvian Coast with 78.6%. Regarding the knowledge of breast cancer, the majority of women have a regular knowledge with 58.6%, in relation to the practice of breast self-examination, 58.6% of women do practice it. Regarding the level of practice of breast self-examination, 41.4% of women do not practice breast self-examination, of the women who do practice breast self-examination, the majority have adequate practice with 31.4%, while 27.1% of Women have an inadequate practice of breast self- examination. Conclusions: It was evidenced that there is no correlation between the knowledge of breast cancer and the practice of breast self-examination, since it was shown that in the hypothesis testing that there is no relationship between the two variables studied.
