This systematic review seeks to improve the management of ABC inventories in retail companies and thus identify the problem: how to carry out the ABC of their procedures in companies, so that they influence the management of their inventories? In the first instance, an evaluation process was implemented for the warehouses in the companies, enabling the improvement of inventory management, as well as allowing us to recognize who the suppliers are according to their activity or efficiency in the distribution of inventories. As a result, it was found that less than 40% of companies in the local market use or focus their resources on inventory management under the ABC methodology, despite the fact that all of them officially train their employees in inventory management as a priority. In this detail, it can be said that less than 10% of companies in developing markets have an alternative to inventory management based on the ABC methodology, since the great demand for products is too volatile. able to categorize them in the medium and long term. In the investigation, however, it is concluded that applying this ABC inventory management methodology gives companies a minimization of operating expenses in the management of storage processes, which generates greater operating profit or profitability and operating margin.
