The objective of this research work is to implement a dry ecological bath, as an appropriate technology for basic sanitation in rural Cajamarca during 2020. The research addressed the following stages: initial diagnosis, data analysis, BES design, implementation of the BES, training, performance evaluation, for which a survey was applied to the inhabitants of the town under study. As a more relevant result, it should be noted that the area has three types of systems: hydraulic trawling projects with a biodigester, septic tanks and traditional latrines. Currently these systems are out of service due to the lack of a continuous water supply by the State., in turn, the water table reaches the infiltrated well, which reaches up to 60 centimeters. The pilot design of the BES is made up of the following elements: toilet or eco-toilet, drying chamber, drying or aggregate mix, ventilation tube, urinal and urine collector. The training of the inhabitants in the proper use and maintenance of the ecological dry toilets represented a high point due to the culture of rejection regarding the direct management of human excreta. It is concluded that the applicability of this alternative of safe basic sanitation has repercussions of a technical, economic, social and cultural nature in the regions, since it provides benefits such as: improves the quality of life of individuals, promotes natural fertilization and production of compost or organic compost free of pathogens, it is a cheaper solution, it does not pollute and its hygienic conditions are appropriate.
