Apoyo social y fases psicológicas de duelo que atraviesa el paciente en tratamiento de hemodiálisis en tres clínicas de Trujillo

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre las funciones de apoyo social y las fases psicológicas de duelo que atraviesa el paciente en tratamiento de hemodiálisis en tres clínicas de Trujillo. El estudio fue de naturaleza no experimental de tipo trasversal correlacional. La población fue conformada por 253 pacientes que atraviesan el tratamiento de hemodiálisis y la muestra por 153 pacientes quienes presentaban como mínimo tres meses de enfermedad, que regularmente asistían al tratamiento de tres veces por semana y que eran mayores de 18 años. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: El cuestionario MOS de apoyo social percibido (MOS) y la escala de actitudes frente a la enfermedad en pacientes con cáncer (AFEP), ambos validados para la presente investigación. Se encontró correlación directa entre las funciones de apoyo social: informacional, emocional e instrumental y el tamaño de la red social con la fase de aceptación; y correlaciones inversas con las fases negación, enojo, regateo y depresión. Cada una de ellas con tamaño del efecto que varía entre trivial a pequeño. Finalmente se concluyó, que existe correlación entre ambas variables, una directa y cuatro inversas.

The present investigation had as main objetive to establish the relationship between the social support functions and the psychological phases of grief in patients who goes through in hemodialysis treatment from three clinics in Trujillo. The study had of a non-experimental nature and a crosscorrelation type. The population consisted for 253 patients who go through in hemodialysis treatment and the sample for 153 patients, who presented as minimum three months of disease, regularly attend to the treatment three times at week and who are over 18 years of age. The instruments used were: The MOS questionnaire of perceived social support and The attitudes towards the disease scale in patients with cancer (AFEP), both validated for the present investigation. A direct correlation was found between the social support functions: informational, emotional and instrumental and the size of the social network with the acceptance phase; and inverse correlations with the phases of denial, anger, bargaining and depression. Each of them with effect size that varies between trivial and small. Finally, it was concluded that there is a correlation between both variables, one direct y four inverses.
