The use of automation in chemical analysis laboratories represents great achievements in terms of productivity, costs, speed and reduction of errors. However, the implementation of new technologies also implies great challenges in the performance of manual and cognitive tasks that were traditionally performed by humans, and their future performance in society; as well as the effective identification of processes and tasks that are suitable for automation. The present research work was oriented towards the automation of the volumetric titration process of mineral concentrates and describes step by step the development of a diagnosis of the current state of the laboratory until the implementation of the Model 815 Robotic USB Sample Processor XL equipment associated with the Tiamo software. , with the aim of improving operational efficiency and quality of results, applying tools and methodologies based on quality systems such as ISO 17025, ISO 5725 and the Eurachem guide. As a result, an implementation level of 90% of the lead titration process in mineral concentrates was achieved, with an 83% reduction in cognitive risk, 41% operating time and quality parameters within the established criteria.
