ABSTRACT This thesis makes the cost comparison between a conventional technology and maintenance and another with Slurry Seal in a flexible pavement, and in it a model of inventory and inspection of field develops appointment Ing. German Vivar and Eng. Wilfredo Gutierrez his book Maintenance and Repair of Concrete Pavement and Asphalt for describing the status of each maintenance. The Slurry Seal is a mixture composed of super stable cationic emulsion, added arid, water and filler, with a minimum thickness of one centimeter supported by the ASTM D-3910 “Practice for design, analysis and construction soil standard primer (slurry seal ), normalized by the ISSA Guide A-105; Conventional maintenance bilayer is composed of two layers of varying thicknesses using gravel and emulsion, based on the NLT 150/63 “Method for determining coarse and fine aggregates“ and AASHTO T84, T85 AASHTO standard corresponding to specific weight aggregate mass. In the beginning of the thesis the classification and properties of each type of maintenance is described, with the description of the tests and dosage of mortars. For this analysis has been taken into account as reference the maintenance project in Chilete-San Pablo-Empalme Route 3N road, where the unit costs of each maintenance followed Analysis technology used by every service is ending with the comparison Equivalent Annual Cost for which alternative maintenance is the best cost effective. Additionally equipment, sieve analysis, standards and rules of each treatment are listed. Finally a comparison of these two types of maintenance it is concluded that the cost per square meter is 4.26 Slurry Seal s /./ m2 and an average life of four years, the cost per square meter bilayer is 9.00 s / ./m2 and an average life of five years.
