ABSTRACT Grapes are one of the leading non-traditional products exported by Peru, which is cultivated in different parts of the country. It is cultivated mainly in Ica, Piura, Lima and La Libertad. In the future it is expected that areas of grape production will continue to increase, in the same way that the exports of this fruit. That is why Peruvian companies must find new markets that appreciate the Peruvian grape. Peru is the fifth largest exporter of grapes in the world, the main destination countries are the United States, the Netherlands and China. Among the importing countries of fresh grapes; China, South Korea and Mexico are the one that have fastest grow and more participation. Therefore, South Korea is a promising grape export market; also, in recent years Korean imports of this product have grown at a rate of 32.64% by year. In the process of the investigation it was found that the Korean market presents different opportunities for Peruvian grape, as it has a strong economy and trends indicates that Korean consumers appreciate foreign products and those that help to improve their welfare. In addition, grape exports entering to South Korea have tariff preference because Peru has an FTA with South Korea. Also, at the time that Korean grape production is low, the season starts in Peru; is why Peruvian exports have the opportunity to be the only ones to enter South Korea between the months of November and December as the season of Chile begins in the month of December, because Chile is the main provider of grapes in Korea. The proposal of this thesis is a product profile for fresh grape in South Korea, to offer information to provide tools and guidelines that must be taken into account by future exporters to know the opportunities that the Korean market have and know how to successfully enter to this market, in order that Peruvian grape achieve a position in the Asian market and gain competitiveness.
