ABSTRACT The objective of the present test is to improve the processes in the planning area of the company Qroma, leader in the manufacturing and commercialization of decoration and coating of interior and exterior painting. With presence at a national level and in Latin America. For this, the factors that affect the supply chain in the planning area were evaluated. Due to the increase of SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) and the variety of products offered in such a wide market as automotive, architectural, marine, industrial, wood and taking into account that the forecast of demand is an important factor in the management of inventories and to have an adequate level of service and an adequate stock. The present work was carried out a classification of the assortment identifying the products as make to stock (MTS), make to order (MTO) and strategic products, were segmented by category and classified the products according to the profitability matrix as AA, A, B, C. In addition, establish service level objectives for each quadrant, allowing to prioritize the decisions in the processes and activities of the chain and thus improve the inventory management and reduce the stock breaks and finally the processes were standardized to improve production time.
