The research work entitled “Proposal for the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing methodology“ 5S “to increase productivity in the area of finishing footwear in matte leather in a shoe company“ was carried out through a non-experimental design using a qualitative method and descriptive in which the production of footwear during the year 2020 was taken as a simple. For this, the DOP Registration Diagrams and DAP Activity Diagrams were used to verify in greater detail the tasks carried out, times and distances that were used within the finishing area and thus proceed with the improvement. The methodology that was implemented was Lean Manufacturing “5S“, which consisted of implementing 5 improvement stages, the first was “Classify“, the second “Organize“, the third “Clean“, the fourth “Standardize“ and the fifth “ Improve ”, each of these stages achieved a better organization, easy access to materials, search times were reduced and fewer distances were traveled. It is also concluded that the implementation of the “5S” Tool had a positive influence eliminating unproductive activities within the finishing area of Inversiones Mr. Ruck’s company.
